Working for over 30 years to improve and protect the habitats on our wild farm, we want to show you the British countryside as it used to be; our enduring haven, teeming with abundant and rare nature and wildlife. Relax, engage and reconnect with your surroundings, and with yourself.
What is a conservation farm?
Woods & Meadows
Our ancient oak and hornbeam woods are carpeted with wood anemones and bluebells in spring while our virgin, uncultivated meadows are filled with a variety of orchids, sedges and vetches, sorrel and wild grasses. Both are managed solely for the benefit of habitat diversity and create a stunning, wild and natural setting a far cry from most cultivated farmland.
Livestock
Our small herd of Longhorn cattle rotate between our acres of meadows. They play an important part to help improve our bio-diversity by spreading flower seeds and grazing the grasses.
Rare & Endangered
Farming for nature for the past three decades means we have attracted a breadth of plants and creatures, many in grave danger across the country. Turtle doves, nightingales and long-horn bees are all resident on the farm. Add to this barn and tawny owls, kestrels, kites, myriad butterfly and moth species, and an incredible breadth of British songbirds.
